Hi,

After signing the offer should I contact the HR and ask about the formal contract/rest of the process. Or am I done with the hiring process and rest is on them?

This is for an summer internship position at one of the MBB firms, also the specified start date in the offer is at the month of july.

Hi,

congrats on your internship.

If you signed the offer, you essentially signed the internship contract. There shouldn't be an additional contract involved. Companies typically send you all of the material for you to review and then sign.

It doesn't hurt to ask your HR contact about the next steps until your start date but I would suspect that they will at least send you a welcome letter of sorts letting you know when to show up where (could also be in e-mail form). On your first day, you then typically get all of your equipment (laptop, phone) and some form of internship buddy as your primary contact person at the firm. Then you go from there.

Hi there!

It is definitely on them to share the contract and any other next steps they expect you to complete.

However, you can always (kindly) ask when should you expect to receive the contract from them if you are keen to get an exact date.

From personal experience, this is typically done closer to starting date, but can differ widely from office to office.

Hope this helps,

Ariadna

PS. Don't forget to use the time wisely until the start of your internship to (1) catch-up on sleep, personal life and anything else fun, but also (2) do a bit of thinking and prep on how to make the most of the internship opportunity.

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the offer!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your question:

  • First of all, I would advise you to review the offer letter and the attached documents thoroughly to understand all the terms and conditions. Make sure you are clear on start dates, salary, benefits, and any onboarding processes.
  • Moreover, I would highly advise you to initiate contact with your HR representative to discuss your next steps. They can provide detailed information about any paperwork you need to complete, timelines, and what to expect in your first few weeks.
  • Lastly, consider reaching out to future colleagues or networking within the firm to get a sense of the company culture and any ongoing projects you might join.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi there,

Congratulations on the offer! Regarding your question:

Q: After signing the offer should I contact the HR and ask about the formal contract/rest of the process. Or am I done with the hiring process?

HR should let you know about the next steps; however if you have any questions there is no problem with reaching out.

All the best for a great start!

Francesco
