I was wondering how the internship decision at MBB is taken per round (specifically after final one)? Does it differ from FT decisions where one requires consensus and there is veto? Do the two decision processes differ at all?

Hi,

the decisions are largely made based on the same criteria. While it might be a bit more forgiving compared to the full-time process (e.g. because candidates are younger, lower hiring risk for the firm since internships are only temporary), candidates still get evaluated among their peer group.

The overall process is also usually a bit shorter and has less partner involvement than recruiting for full-time positions. However, internships are an important recruiting tool for firms and many employees were former interns. So you should expect a high level of rigor in the recruiting process as well and prepare accordingly.

Best of luck

Do the best you can.

Period.

You're focusing your time/mental energy on something that affects nothing about what YOU do. Please focus energy/brainpower on things that matter.

That said, there is not a big difference in the decision process. You need to be a strong candidate. Period.

Hi,

Based on my experience having been an interviewer - the interview process might differ (e.g. maybe 1 less round, depending on office), but the decision process is largely the same as the FT hiring process. If there are 2 interviewers in a round, both scores have to be good enough / aligned in order for you to get the offer.

It would be good to realize that this is beyond your control and I would suggest what you should be focusing on is instead building the right fundamentals.

All the best!

The short answer is that it's very similar and often times more competitive than full time given the fewer number of roles available

Hey,

The decision making process is the same but it usually involves fewer interviewers than a full-time position.

Good luck!
Nick

The process is the same.

What they adjust is the level of skill that they expect from you.

Best,
Cristian

The interview process is shorter, the bar is lower, but the decision making process is basically the same.
