I was contacted last month by an MBB firm who told me that I made it to their first round of interviews.
they said that their next interview day will be in October. But they still didn’t share with me the exact date or details of the interview, and today is October 8th already.
mid this normal?

I would not worry about it, they are probably just organizing the recruiting pipeline. If you don’t hear back in a couple of days, it is fine to follow up with HR (I would call if possible) for an update.

A few people I'm coaching have had this issue. I don't think it's anything to worry about. If it's been over a week since you've heard you can just email hr politely and ask them for an update. If they said they're interviewing you it will happen.
Congratulations on getting the interview! I would not hesitate to contact the recruiter you have been in contact with - if there is already interest in interviewing you, following up a couple times to inquire details is not going to impact your application in any way. As the other poster mentioned, they will still eventually do the interview, so its in your best interest to continue preparing in the meantime

You can be proactive and follow up. It is perfectly justified since you need to plan for this as well so they should give you some lead time. I wish you good luck for the first round
I'd recommend giving the recruiting team a call to ask them if they know what the date is and, if they don't, when you can expect to hear. Good luck!

Yes, it's “normal” in the sense that these teams tend to be quite delayed in scheduling/responses. Be patient, but also follow-up (politely).
Make sure not to spam them, but also not to just let it sit and be forgotten. There's a fine line here that you need to walk!
At this point, you can reach out. If they don't respond in 1.5 weeks, follow-up flagging the month is nearing an end and you just wanted to make sure all is well.
In the meantime, make sure you're not slacking on case prep!

We're entering one of the busiest periods for consulting recruiting teams. I would reach out to the HR and clarify the timelines but I would start preparing for the interviews regardless what the interview date is. They might only give you a one week notice and you need to ensure you are ready beforehand.
