If you are convinced that you have given your best in current MBB firm, tried all options and still cant turn the situation in your favour, then go ahead by all means and switch. If not, give it another year and work with your manager/partner to freshen up things for you i.e. change in role, client account etc etc.

But, if this is some sort of escape and you haven't reflected & corrected the current source of issues, very quickly you will hit some bumps in the new company. 

Failure is part of the game and almost everyone faces it. Dont fear it or escape from it. Life will be dull.

I personally dont look at anything as a failure and rather an opportunity to learn & improve.

Personally, I can't see why you wouldn't switch! You'll get paid more, be in a higher role, and you'll have a fresh start.

You've also already asked to leave the other MBB, so it sounds like the writing is on the wall.

I don't see why not. It feels like you didn't really have the a positive experience where you were, i.e., they were not setting you up for success.

So yes, take the offer, you will further improve your resume, double the size of your high-quality network, you will make good money, and most importantly, you won't regret not having accepted the offer. 

If you fail, it just means you are not the consulting type. Honestly, no problem with that. Most people are not the consulting type. 

The problem is that you still don't know the answer for that, i.e., you aren't sure yet if consulting is for you. If you knew the answer, you would be rejecting the offer and be looking for something else. (or you know the answer and believe one more year can help you out in your career, and the answer is that most likely than not it can).
