Hi,

I applied to a senior knowledge analyst role. I communicated with the hiring manager, and she asked me to submit my resume on the portal and advised that an interview will be scheduled once initial data are gathered by HR.

Now, more than 2 weeks have passed and still nothing. Do you think it is appropriate to follow up with the hiring manager? or wait a bit more?

Thanks

Hi,

In general, I would recommend following up after a bit more than a week by phone. In my experience, a quick call usually reveals whether the process is just slow or if you have been rejected better than an email.

So in your case, it's completely legitimate to reach out to the recruiter.

Good luck!

Hi there,

Yes, it should be fine to follow-up after two weeks.

And if you're feeling too nervous about it, then try to put the energy into practicing to get better with casing and the personal fit part of the interview :)

Best,

Cristian

Yes, 2 weeks without a response is enough time to warrant a follow-up. Recruiters also have to assume that applicants are applying to more than one company. So reaching out now is legitimate as you don't have any time to waste.

Perfectly appropriate after two weeks.

Not before (unless you have a strong underlying reason, i.e. competing process, for example).

Hi there!

Yes, two weeks without a response is definitely good time to follow up and check in on the status. Good luck with the application and process!

Hi there,

The delay is usually given that all people that interviewed you must submit their feedback and this can take long as everyone's agenda is extremely packed. So delay doesn't mean anything bad, it is just an organizational thing. Still, I would strongly recommend reaching out to HR and asking for an update and a new timeline.

If you are off-wave hire, the process can be pretty slow, mine took 4 months and I was really pushing them having another offer.

Good luck

Lucie

I would wait till the end of the third week and then call – in this way you can understand better the situation as Ken mentioned.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi there,

2 weeks is certainly not enough to panic. You can reach out to them this week or next.

Fingers crossed for you!

It's absolutely worth following up with HR to just ask what the next steps are and when they may have some more information for you.

Good luck!
