Hi there,

This is indeed an interesting question which is probably relevant for quite a lot of users, so I am happy to provide my perspective on it:

  • Generally speaking, it depends on what information you provide and how you do it. While interviewing with or having received offers from competing consulting companies will make you more interesting, stressing this or coming off very excited about those interviewing processes/ offers will heavily make you less interesting. I have seen both ways multiple times in the decision committees.
  • Still, the most important and only factor you have control of is your performance in the interviews. Thus, I would advise you to focus on these even if you might be in a slightly better place due to your situation with competing companies.

In case you want a more detailed discussion on how to maximize your chances to receive an offer, please feel free to contact me directly.

I hope this helps,

Hagen

Hi!

It doesn't increase your chances of getting hired but it might help you to speed up the recruiting process.

Hope this helps.

Best,

Anto

It might increase your chances of landing those interviews, but getting in will depend on the interview performance.

Recruiters know that candidates interview with multiple firms, but being in demand is a good sign.

Hi there,

Not worth worrying about. It's not something you can control! Focus on what you can control i.e. doing well in the interview.

Yes it should speed up the process overall. Will it influence their decision? Possibly, but not dramatically.

It depends. Worth noting that the decision round interviewer who decides on the hiring decision is different to the recruiter who cares more about competing offers and attracting talent away from competition. Good luck!

They are more interested in interviewing you and more interested in doing it faster. But after that it won't increase your chances of getting in.

Could mean a faster offer and also a better one (assuming this is a boutique and they have bands/intervals and not a fixed value for your rank).

Hi there,

It doens't increase your chances of getting in but they will make the recruitment process faster to get a chance to interview you.

Basically, the now got the signal that you're a strong candidate so they want to get their shot at checking you out.

Best,
Cristian

If you are interviewing with their competitors - it increases their confidence in you that you are indeed a good candidate. And that they didn't make a mistake in screening you.

It can also help in speeding up either process. Since - once they figure out that you are good - they will likely speed up to try and get you before the other company does.
