Basically, try and focus as much as possible on what you did, how and what was the impact of it. Try to provide within the bullet point the minimum amount of context about the project that is needed for the reader to get the point.

Not necessarily. It depends on:

• Space available
• Whether the experiences can be aggregated
• Whether all experiences are worth reporting

I have seen this work…but only sometimes.

I'd say 80% of the time it's sub-optimal and 20% of the time it works well.

My default advice would be to not do this, and rather just include that context within the bullet point itself.

think about how you worded executive summaries to clients during your time as a consultant. There is no need to go into the minutia of every single project or be particularly chronological in what you list. The objective is to highlight the experiences you've made and skills you developed that are most relevant to the job you are applying for now. 

In my opinion, the individual context of the consulting project is not needed to give the reader a good idea of the things you have done (i.e. methodologies used) as a consultant and the impact you created. Remember, you are choosing the most impactful examples for your CV anyway. It's not about making sure that you represent each and every assignment.

Keep it lean and consistent in how you structure your bullet points for the various experiences.

Depends on how you want to organize it (and the extensiveness of your consulting experience), but in general I would say to include separate projects as individual bullet points, but not under separate sub-headings. So something roughly like:

MBB firm

Project Manager

• [Project 1]
• [Project 2]
• etc…

This really depends on experience level. 

If you only have a couple of projects then yes, it is fine to state what the project was (objective and industry), your responsibility, your achievements. Don't be too long, 2 lines max.

Honestly, when hiring a consultant, the only way to really understand their experience is by stating this. Even with strategy firms, people have very difference experiences regaring roles, industries, etc. And it should be possible to understand the type of consultant that you were by reading your CV.
