Hi,
I got referrals in these two firms and want to know whether I should send my CV and cover letter over or just mention their name in the application process?

Hi!
Once you get a referral, you should get a link to submit your application (i.e. CV and cover letter).
If you do not receive that link, send an email to HR with your CV to start the application process. They will likely direct you to the online portal anyways!

Anto
Hi there,
You should follow the direction of the person referring you. Most likely they will just ask to send them your CV.
After that, there may be two options depending on the office and company:

Hi there,
When it comes to referrals, you need to follow the referree's guidance.
Simply including their name in your cover letter/appication is not a referral. They have to take specific action!
Often, when they do, they'll need your resume. So just attach it for them so they don't need to ask!
Hey there,
For McK, it depends on the office.
1. Some (larger) offices have an online system. Once the person refers you, you should get a link for your application.
2. Other offices have a more personal-based referral system, where the consultants write a simple email to HR and HR reaches out to you asking you to apply.
Cheers,
Florian
Congratulations on getting two referrals! The person who is willing to refer you needs to go through the system on their end to input your details. Then you should get an email with an application link inviting you to apply. Follow that link - don't apply in the portal directly.
There is no uniquely standard approach to how referrals work in MBB. There is variation across offices, application levels, referee's levels, and HR's view of your profile in the referral.
So the best way forward would be dependent on:
Actually, I'd write to HR to mention that somebody said they submitted a referral and mention who they are.
This way HR will then ‘connect’ your application with that specific referral.
