In experienced Hire/working professionals Consulting CV after work experience &  education what should come, Do extra extracurricular activities needs to be highlighted or just an additional information about skills and certifications is ok. What do recruiters look in for in such experienced Hire/working professionals apart from work experience  & education.

Any Advice / views on this by the experts, ex-consultants ?

Hi there,

Work experience and education are the most important aspects in experience hire recruiting.

I recommend focusing on the bullet points for each work experience and highlighting your successes.

You should definitely add extracurricular activities, interests, certifications if relevant as well. However, they should be only a small part of your CV.

Hi there,

Extracirricular activites and other work experience should be highlighted if they add to your resume i.e. demonstrate consulting skills.

Then, you should have Skills & Interests & Certifications.

If you post/send your resume I'll be happy to provide initial feedback on what's needed/missing!

Hello!

Your question is very wide, and it totally depends.

For sure the most important fields are education and past professional experience, and there is where you should totally focus. And of course, if you have space, you should mention the extra curriculars and others (if relevant).

Usually you would do a different field with interests, skills, languages, prices and recognitions, etc.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

First, you want to show analytical, communication and entrepreneurial (drive/ownership) skills. If you have extracurricular activities that show this, great. This is your priority.

Second, there are some other skills that have value to the firm. Language skills, digital, knowledge on a specific industry, all are good to know.

Third, they want a person that has passions. People with passions have drive (refer to point 1) and are interesting. What it is doesn't really matter (as long as it doesn't go against point 1, nor raises questions regarding your professionalism). Finally, people who are able to juggle multiple things at the same time show a lot of drive and work ethic, and this is key in consulting.

For example, have you spent years learning how to learn an instrument? That is great. The skill itself is not relevant for consulting. But learning an instrument while getting a degree is not for everyone, so it shows strong work ethic. It may also may suggest team skills (e.g. play with other people). And it is an interesting conversation topic that can be great when meeting some clients (and while being stranded with a team mate in an airport). But it deesn't have to be about music - a lot other stuff work great as well.

P.S. Avoid things may suggest risk-seeking behaviors (sorry, professional gambling experience will not get you the interview).
