Hi there,

You're starting to get into "solve the case for me" territory. You can absolutely ask how this technology/innovation is going to improve the product (i.e. across what traits, etc.). From there, yes you are expected to think through how those improvements/innovations will actually result in new benefits.

In regards to saving time, it could do both right...if I redesign a product to save time in terms of aging my wine, well, that means I can produce more wine and make more money. However, if it saves time and let's me bottle each wine more quickly, that allows me to cut labor costs (I'm a winery meaning my land/# of grapes is mostly fixed).

Think through these problems critically...that is always the expectation! :)

Hi there,

You can definitely ask for clarification on the benefits as clarifying question if that’s not clear. However:

  • I would present the question with a hypothesis on where you would expect the savings (eg “Since you told me savings would be related to XYZ, I would expect this would result in ABC, do we have any information whether that’s correct”)
  • I would move to quantify the savings when you solve the case (after you presented the structure), not as clarifying questions
