If it were me, I personally wouldn't play this game. These thigns tend to catch up and are the type of behavior that *might* get one blacklisted.

That said, you might also get away with it. This particular company seems disorganized and seems to have seperate hiring systems.

It's a personal choice but please don't assume there's no risk…there's risk to both and you just have to balance your choice here (understanding the risks in both).

Great question. I would recommend clarifying with the HR in Europe whether their rules allow you to go through recruiting at two different offices. Some firms are totally fine with it, some prefer to streamline the process where you can still be considered by multiple offices but just interview with one, some firms require you to only apply to one office. In my opinion, it's not worth playing the system because the downside is high. Best to understand clearly how the rules work and play by them. But that's just my opinion - as Paul and Ian have pointed out, there are other ways of viewing this issue.

Q: I was invited to start the selection process for a T2 firm in my home country (western Europe) but at the same time I have an ongoing interview process with the same company but in Middle-East. Do you think that this can impact negatively on my process? 

Most likely they haven’t noticed you are in both processes yet which is why they offered to start both.

I would recommend that you complete the process for your favorite option first without starting the other yet. In this way:

1. If it works out you can drop from the other process
2. If it doesn’t work out you can check if it is possible to continue the other process

That's rather strange. 

Guess it shows how the recruitment process is sometimes siloed from region to region. 

Theoretically, with global firms you can only recruit for one role at a time. However, as long as they didn't say anything, you can continue the recruitment process with them in parallel.

I would recommend you openly go to the recruiting team in your favourite office and play it openly with them. Ask whether it is OK to have applications in two offices in parallel.
