Hello, can I change my office preferences after submitting my application? I submitted my application 1 month ago and seems like not reviewed yet.

I have asked HR managers that I am currently targeting and BCG got back to me saying I could change on the website. However I really cannot find where I can make the change. Does this mean my application is under review?

Thanks for your comments and advice in advance.

Hi there,

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, I would advise you to reach out to the recruiter who informed you about the option to change your preferences on the website. He/ she should be able to provide clarity on the situation and guide you on the necessary steps if a change is still feasible.
  • Moreover, unless you have cogent reasons to change office preferences, I would highly advise you to consider the impression you leave. Changing office preferences after having submitted the application might not come off as thought through.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on your specific situation, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hello,

I'd follow up with HR, let them know you can't find where to change your office preferences online, and ask them exactly where to make the change. It shouldn't be an issue if they haven't started reviewing applications.

Hi there!

Application platforms can be pretty confusing most of the time.

Take a screenshot of where you are meant to change the office and send it to the recruiter telling them that you're unable to do so.

Ask them whether there are alternative ways of changing it or whether they could put you in touch with somebody from their IT department to adjust it.

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

suggest you get back to HR and let them know you couldn't find it (screenshot helps). Then kindly ask them to advise / help you make the change manually.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Andi

Hi there,

Q: Can I change my office preferences after submitting my application? BCG got back to me saying I could change on the website. However I really cannot find where I can make the change.

If they confirmed that’s possible but there is no option online, I would recommend following up with HR and asking if they can recommend how to proceed, they should be able to advise.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi there,

If HR said you can change on the website, and you cannot find the location, then I would encourage you to ask them where, specifically, you can make the change.

Very politely you can share a screenshot as well (careful! Screenshots could feel “agressive” so just word it as you sending it to help clarify)
