Dear all,

I applied to be a business analyst intern at multiple offices, but after submitting my application I realized one of them requires a copy of your high school diploma, current grades, etc., to be submitted with the application. I didn't do this, as I hadn't seen it as a requirement anywhere else and this wasn't listed among the required documents on their “main” office site, only their internship one.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm planning to email HR and see whether I can submit these directly to them, as their official deadline for applications doesn't close for another 10 days, but I'm worried this oversight will count against me.

Best,

Anon

Hi there,

Don't worry. You will never be rejected on this basis. If a document that is important is missing, they will usually reach out to you. Otherwise, like you suggested, you can proactively reach out to them and send it.

If you want to worry about something :), worry about being prepared and fit for the interviews. That's a lot more important.

Hello!

I don´t think it will be critical if that information is somehow included in your CV (e.g., most of CVs have a GPA part, some of the things you did during uni, etc.).

In any case I agree with you, reaching out to HR is the right course of action here.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

Hi there,

Did the application itself have a field for your transcript? As in, was there a specific “upload transcript here” button?

If not, you're fine.

Here's a bit of a secret: most companies/websites have inconsistencies! The person who wrote main office site was probably different to the person who wrote the internship site was probably different to the person who designed the application process! One was probably done in 2019, the other in 2022, and the other in 2017!

Don't worry, if they need the transcript later they will ask.

If you are still concerned, you can reach out to the recruiter and flag the discrepancy.

I wouldn’t worry about it but if you’re keen, following up with the required documents is definitely not a bad idea.
