I would pick words that are authentic but also aligned with the role. For example, I might say: analytical, dependable, and curious. Each word reflects a strength that’s relevant to investment banking — solving problems, being reliable under tight deadlines, and always wanting to learn more.
After sharing the three words, it's important to follow up with a brief explanation or example for each. For instance, I’d mention a time when I stayed calm and detail-focused under pressure, or how I’ve consistently taken initiative to learn technical skills outside of class or work. This helps turn a simple question into a chance to tell your story and show self-awareness. The goal is to be memorable, not just polished.
