I did my final round interview for Bain Middle East last Monday and I have yet to be notified about the decision, while the decision for the first round came on the same day. I contacted the recruiters (given that it has been a week) and they are on break till the beginning of next week. Would it be acceptable to reach out to the interviewers of the final round? Or should I essentially move on as Bain is known to have same-day decisions?

Don't reach out. Don't move on. Wait for them to make a decision.

It's normal to take some days to make a decision (sometimes they even take a couple of weeks, but usually less). Let them take their time.

If after a couple of weeks they are radio-silent, it still doesn't mean “no”. When they decide, they will let you know the answer. But after a couple of weeks it's fair to reach out to them to ask them when do they expect to have made a decision.

By all means, wait.

Sometimes it takes 2 weeks even to receive an answer.

This does not reflect on you.

It could just be that they have vacation, or the interviewers didn't find a slot to align or it's taking longer to clarify whether they can still hire.

There can be a million reasons to explain why they are taking so long and you can't do anything about any of them.

All that you can do on this application is way.

And aside from this, you can focus on your next applications.

Best,
Cristian

Hi there,

don’t reach out to the interviewers. The recruiters/HR are your points of contact.

Many people here in the forum have been reporting about fairly long timeframes for feedback. Before offer decisions are communicated, they have to be aligned between HR and the interviewers involved. This can sometimes take time because of internal scheduling conflicts. They could also be conducting additional final rounds with other candidates and they might want to wait for that to play out to look at the full candidate picture before making final decisions.

I know that this is unsettling for you and you would rather get feedback sooner than later, but unfortunately you will have to wait until you hear back.

However, you should always “move on” until you have a written offer in your hands. So don’t put your other recruiting efforts on hold in the meantime.

Best of luck

Hi there,

Q: I contacted the recruiters (given that it has been a week). Would it be acceptable to reach out to the interviewers of the final round? Or should I essentially move on as Bain is known to have same-day decisions?

If you have already contacted the recruiters, I would recommend waiting for their reply first, which should come by next week once they are back.

Good luck!

Francesco
