I am curious as I don't think I did as well as I would like. This is for McKinsey New Venture.

Hi Anonymous,

in all the tests for consulting you have to pass a bar to move to the next round; most of the time you have to be in the top 25% percentile. What that implies in terms of score varies according the difficulty of the test, in general you should target 70% of the maximum score as a rule of thumb.

The only exception to that is if you are an experience hire, in that case they usually weight the test with your performance in the cases.

Best,

Francesco

Hi,

Obviously you want to do as well as possible, but it's not a really clean bar - instead your performance on the test and the quality of your application are reviewed together. Your overall performance will then influence whether you are invited to interview

Hope all goes well, and do reach our if looking for guidance preparing for interviewing with McKinsey

First round interview confirmed for McK and BCG in August. Done 50+ cases so far

You have to pass a certain bar to move on to the first round interview.

Just out of curiosity, Did you apply in the US before the Oct.22nd deadline?
