What are the best resources to prepare for BCG’s chatbot case assessment???

I'm about to take BCG's online case assessment (HireQuotient or Casey Chatbot) and there are only few resources regarding Chatbot cases.

I’ve come across a lot of useful material here, but most of it doesn't replicate the structure or interactivity typical of chatbot cases.

So, my questions are:

1. Is there a dedicated chatbot case library I'm missing, either on this platform or elsewhere?

2. Would you recommend purchasing CASEBASIX’s package? It’s $70 for four simulated chatbot cases, a bit pricey so I’d love to know if it's worth it.

3. Is the case library here enough to prepare for both the chatbot assessment and traditional case interviews?

Thanks in advance !

Hi there,

The BCG chatbot case is a bit different from traditional interviews, but the good news is that I have a very effective resource that my students have used to successfully pass it. If you’re preparing, I’d strongly suggest reaching out to me directly so I can share it with you – it’ll give you a big advantage compared to just practicing standard cases.

Best,

No dedicated “chatbot case” library really exists — they’re still standard business cases, just delivered via chat.

  • Practice with regular case libraries here is enough (focus on structuring clearly in writing).
  • Paid packages (like CaseBasix) can help if you want format practice, but not essential.
  • Key is to be crisp, hypothesis-driven, and concise in typed answers — the content is the same as a normal case.

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation from BCG!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

  • First of all, the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment is essentially a case study that you solve on your own. As such, I would strongly advise you to focus your preparation on practicing case studies with peers, an experienced coach like me and on your own, as this is the best way to prepare for it.
  • Moreover, in case you can get your hands on authentic BCG Casey sets, this could help you further. However, there is no official BCG Casey case study library, and I also do not think that fabricated case simulations will be of much help.
  • Lastly, in addition to PrepLounge's Case Library, I would advise you to work with business school case books. The ones I like are: Columbia, Darden, Esade, Fuqua, Kellog, LBS, McCombs, Michigan, Ross, Sloan, and especially Yale.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on authentic BCG Casey sets, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hey there :)

There isn’t really a dedicated large-scale library for BCG’s chatbot cases, since the format is still relatively new and BCG keeps it quite proprietary. Most people prepare with regular case libraries and then just practice the adaptation to a text-based, more structured Q&A format.

CASEBASIX (and similar packages) can help if you want to simulate the exact style, but they’re not mandatory. You can replicate the practice yourself by taking normal written/online-style cases and forcing yourself to answer in short, structured text blocks (as if you were “chatting” with the bot). That’s the main difference: it’s about clear, concise structuring in writing rather than having a live discussion.

So:

  1. No hidden chatbot case library you’ve missed.
  2. Paid packages can be helpful for feel and speed, but not essential.
  3. The existing case libraries here are absolutely enough to build the skills, as long as you practice writing out your answers instead of talking them through.

best, Alessa :)
