Hi,

The preparation for the chatbot BCG are similar to prepare for a real case interview. The skills you need to master are: drafting MECE framework, showing business sense, perform quick math and graph reading...

The basis for preparing the video interview is preparing an answer on the frequently asked questions using the STAR method and using the best practises for a video interview (e.g., eye contact, body language, stable internet connection, clear voice).

Feel free to schedule a free intro call so we can discuss in more detail.

Hi there,

Q: I need help to prepare the online test vía chat-bot of BCG and the 5-10 min video interview

I provided some information below on the assessment.

The BCG Online Case (also called Casey Chatbot Interview) is an 8-10 questions test BCG now used globally. It is structured in 2 parts:

  • 8-10 questions to be taken in 35 minutes (in its new version, before it was 25-30 minute)
  • 1 video interview question at the end, where you usually have to provide a recommendation

If you want to prepare further for the online case, I created a software simulation that replicates exactly the chatbot and one-way video interview.

It includes the following and more:

  • 4 Casey Software Simulations of the Chatbot. These are live chatbots simulating exactly the same chatbot environment of the test (meaning you will receive questions from an actual chatbot with a flow equivalent to the one of the test).
  • 4 One-Way Video Interviews. These come with Artificial Intelligence reports, so that you can see how the software will perceive your performance in terms of voice, speech clarity, energy and more.
  • 2 PDF Simulations of the Chatbot. These are additional tests Casey-style, meaning you will have 6 different Casey Chatbots to train with overall.
  • Free access to 6 PSTs and Potential Tests for further practice.
  • Deep explanation of all the 5 types of questions asked in the BCG Online Case thanks to the complimentary 144-page guide.

You can get immediate access to the software simulation and guide at the link below:

Good luck!

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation from BCG!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

  • First of all, the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment is essentially a case study that you solve on your own. Therefore, I would highly advise you to focus your preparation on practicing case studies with peers and on your own, as this is the best way to prepare.
  • Moreover, if you can get your hands on authentic BCG Casey sets, this could help you even more.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming BCG pre-interview assessment and/or interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hi, preparing for BCG’s online chatbot test and the 5-10 minute video interview means focusing on practice and reflection; I suggest revisiting sample questions and timed online tests to boost both accuracy and speed, and reviewing any feedback from your previous attempt to pinpoint areas for improvement; for the video interview, practice answering common behavioral questions using a structured approach like STAR, record yourself to check your tone, body language, and clarity, and consider a mock interview with a friend to get honest feedback—ensuring your environment is professional and that you come across as genuine and confident can really make a difference; keep refining your preparation, and remember that every interview is a learning experience. There are several resources out there that have practice tests / simulation software. Some are better than others.

As with all preparation resources, they often never really mimic the actual test fully, though they might come close to it.

The suggestion I give to my coachees is to

  1. Sign up for a few different resources
  2. Practice and note the lessons learnt from the resources
  3. Get quality feedback and advice on those that you are confused by / questionable logic

All the best!

I hear you! The BCG chatbot test and video interview can be tricky, but with the right prep, you can definitely improve your chances. For the chatbot, focus on clear, structured responses—practice breaking down problems logically and using frameworks where possible. For the video interview, keep your answers concise and well-structured (the STAR method works well). Recording yourself beforehand can help refine your delivery and boost confidence.

Hi there,

There are free and paid guides and practice tests available.

  • For free practice, look for older BCG Online Practice tests and McKinsey PSTs. Additionally, a quick google search can yield some good articles
  • For paid options, consider google as well.

Cheers,

Florian

Hey,

BCG Casey tests both your case interview and calculation skills. In order to pass this stage, you'll need to master these two skills. In addition, I'd suggest getting an online program that helps you prepare for this test specifically.

Good luck next time!
Nick
