BCG HireQuotient Online Assessment

Hi there,

1) Is this the same as the caseychat bot?

Yes.

2) Can I use a calculator during the test?

Yes.

If you want, you can find some prep material at the link below (full disclosure, I am the author):

If you have further questions about the test, please feel free to PM me.

Good luck!

Francesco

Hi there,

First of all, congratulations on the invitation from BCG!

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:

• First of all, the BCG HireQuotient Online Assessment is indeed the BCG Casey pre-interview assessment.
• Moreover, you are allowed to use a calculator. I believe they mention this when you begin the pre-interview assessment.

You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.

If you would like a more detailed discussion on authentic BCG Casey sets and/or how to best prepare for your upcoming BCG interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.

Best,

Hagen

Hey there :)

1. The BCG HireQuotient Assessment is different from the Casey Chatbot. HireQuotient focuses more on business judgment, data interpretation, and logical thinking, while Casey simulates an interactive case interview.
2. Yes, you're allowed to use a calculator during the HireQuotient test, and it's actually recommended to save time on math questions.

Good luck tomorrow, and feel free to reach out if you have more questions!

best,
Alessa :)

Yes to both questions.

There are lots of resources online for prep, but check also the Q&A section for advice given to previous candidates.

You can also use ChatGPT to get a better understanding of the test and how to best prepare for it.

Best,
Cristian

As previous coaches mentioned - the answer to both of your questions is yes.

I would recommend Francesco's programme to prepare.

Hi there,

If your invitation is for the BCG HireQuotient Online Assessment and describes a chatbot led business case, it is generally the format candidates refer to as the BCG Online Case or Casey Chatbot.

However, BCG assessment formats can vary by office and change over time. Before you begin, check the instructions in your invitation carefully, especially the sections on permitted materials and technical requirements.

Regarding the calculator: use one only if your invitation or the assessment instructions explicitly permit it. Do not assume that the policy is the same across all BCG assessments or offices. If the instructions are unclear, contact your recruiting contact before starting the test.

For preparation, focus on the skills the online case typically tests:

1. Structuring a business problem clearly
2. Interpreting charts and exhibits quickly
3. Performing accurate calculations under time pressure
4. Recommending a practical next step in a concise way
5. Communicating a clear final recommendation on video, if this is part of your invitation

For realistic practice in a chatbot format, see the BCG Online Case Combo: Software Simulation.
