Inverto Round 2 Case help

in the BCG inverto interview process.

Round 1 is pretty well documented here.

Round 2 case appears to be a verbal, deliberately vague prompt, where you have to press for facts, build your MECE buckets, and then insights, risks, and implementation.

is there any more information that can be shared on this round? did not see any practice cases that followed this. Any help would be great.

I haven't seen a reliable public write-up of Inverto's second round either, so I'd treat your description as a working assumption and ask your recruiter to confirm the format and length. What you describe still tells you what to practise. A short, open prompt tests whether you can pin down the problem before you build anything.

I'd practise starting cases from a single sentence. Ask a partner for a prompt like "a manufacturer's material costs are up 12%, what should they do?" and have them hold back all data until you ask for it. Your first questions should pin down the objective, the scope and how success will be measured. Then lay out your buckets and say which one you'd test first and why.

Inverto works on procurement and supply chain, so it helps to know the common levers: pooling spend across suppliers, renegotiating terms, changing specifications, and make-or-buy decisions. You'll also want a view on supplier risk and on how savings get delivered and tracked.

Finish each practice case with a recommendation, the two biggest risks, and what the client should do in the first 90 days. That matches the insight, risk and implementation sequence you've already spotted.
