I have an upcoming R1 interview for the BA role at McKinsey. I asked the recruiter if she could confirm which PEI dimensions would be evaluated in R1, but she just reiterated that I should prepare 2–3 stories for all four dimensions.
While I’ll make sure I’m covered across all four, I’d still like to be a bit more targeted with my prep because I have limited time. I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone about the following questions:
Which PEI dimensions can I expect to be asked about in R1? I’ve heard that Connection and Growth are the most common, but I’m curious how frequently the other two dimensions come up.
How often does the interviewer ask for a second story for the same dimension? Is it reasonable to focus most of my prep on having one really strong story per dimension, or should I spend significant time preparing backup stories as well? I’m a bit concerned that the interviewer might ask for a second story just to test me, although I’ve heard that this isn’t very common in R1.
