Does everyone get sent online assessments?

As others here have pointed out, this is most likely an administrative error, if you are certain you didn't receive the test (e.g., in your spam folder). You need to find a way of contacting HR or recruiting. Are anyone's contact details listed on the application form? Can you find the relevant people in the office you applied to on their website?

Q: I  got a rejection from BCG stating that I had failed the online case test, but I was never sent an invite to complete the test?

This seems a bug. I would contact HR to clarify, hopefully they will fix it and send you the invitation for the test.

Hi there,

This seems to be an administrative issue rather than an issue with your resume.

There is only one solution and path to take: Reach out to the recruiter, ideally calling them directly instead of emailing. If you cannot find their number, call the front desk of the local office (the number is on Google) and explain your situation.

This sounds like an admin error - reach out to the recruiting team to ask for clarification of what happened. And honestly, a lot of people come from ‘unconventional’ backgrounds - MBB is interested in your potential and how you've demonstrated excellence to date, irrespective of where you've come from. 

This is very clear: they are stating you failed a test you didn't do. 

You have to reach out to them because there's a mistake on their side.

Second, I would recommend you reach out in ernest to HR. This means sending an email to them and calling multiple times to try to get a hold of them.
