Hi All,

I'd love to hear from everyone who has had a final round interview with MBBs/Strong T2 strategy houses e.g. Monitor/OC&C etc.

For how long did you have to wait before you received an offer/rejection? What was the outcome?

From existing discussions on the internet it seems that the most common lead time for offers are (1) same day; or (2)1-3 days.

For rejections, it seems to be either (1) 1-5 days or (2) 1-2 weeks.

It'd be interesting to see if such an observation can be replicated here.

Hey there,

Personally, I had offers and a rejection within the same day. In case of McKinsey, I had barely left the building when the Partner called me with the good news.

However, there’s a very high degree of variability and, as pointed out by Ian, there’s people receiving offer calls a few weeks later and after having given up hope already.

Hence, I’d be very cautious about making any predictions based on how much time has passed.

Best of luck!

Hi Jon,

Personally? When I was recruiting at Stern all 8 companies I interviewed with let me know either same day or next day that I had moved on.

That said, the process completely depends on the region, recruiting pipeline, and timing (i.e. how busy HR is). For MBA interviews which occur across the span of just a couple of weeks, this quick feedback makes sense.

I appreciate your efforts but your data collection is going to carry immense biases and it will be difficult to isolate variables :)

In general, offers come quickly. However, I've had so many candidates who received offers after weeks and weeks (even months). It all depends on when the interview round is over, how busy HR is, whether they're waiting on their first sent offer to be accepted/rejected, etc.

Hi Jon,

At OC&C, I got an offer the same day. Approximately 3 hours after the last of four interviews in total.

The process was very fast.

Hello!

Usually they take 1-3 days to communicate outcomes in MBB, regardless of yes/no. It can be longer if the partners who interviewed had complicated agendas and couldn´t meet.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

MBB typically shares results in 1-3 days, whether it is an offer or a rejection. I, personally, have not heard of communication taking over a week.

If it is through on-campus recruiting, they typically need to make sure that all interviews are complete and internal discussions/grading completed before results are shared with the candidates.
