Hello everybody

A partner sent my CV to HR team and within a couple of hours, I got a reply from HR asking me to apply on the website and shared with me all the details regarding which position to apply for and what are the start dates available.

Should I apply on the portal or should I network more and try to get a referral as I believe this is not a referral as the partner just sent my CV to the HR team and they asked to apply online.

Your thoughts?

Hello!

Congrats, that is precisely the referral, since you are flagged to HR already.

Now they need you data in the system to process and kick off the process.

Best of luck!

Cheers,

Clara

Your situation in essence is a referral and so I would just go ahead! For certain entry points, there is no official channel for referrals other than your CV being emailed to the HR team. At the same time, there is no assurance of you getting an interview, even if a partner has put forward your CV. Since the HR team are aware of your profile prior to reviewing your application, the partner who has referred you has already helped you increase your chances. I would just proceed with what HR have asked you to do asap.

Hey there,

If HR already prompted you to go via the website then follow suit. In some offices, the official route via the website disclaimers needs to be taken due to data privacy laws. :-)

Cheers,
Florian

I am not sure why you think this is not a referral? The partner did exactly what they said they would and HR is asking you to apply. You cannot get hired if you do not apply, everyone has to be in the system.
