I'm a Singaporean who's graduating with a PhD from an overseas university soon and is looking to land a job in consulting. Does anybody know whether MBB firms in Singapore are open to job applications all year round, or do they have specific hiring seasons?

I've been super busy with graduation and will need more time to prepare for case interviews. Thanks!

Hi there,

It's best to ask the recruiter directly about the timelines, but as a general guideline you can apply at any point throughout the year, so don't feel like you need to rush.

Best,

Cristian

Hi there,

There are ups and downs for recruiting demand but they aren't seasonal. Instead, they're based on project portfolio and employee retention. However, none of those things can be perfectly predicted and as a result, recruiting is generally done on a rolling basis all year around.

Campus recruitment is an exception as it follows the university summer breaks for internships etc.

Hope this helps! Best of luck!

Hi Joanne,

In general they recruit year-round. However, there are phases and peak periods.

In particular, if you are looking to recruit specifically through your university, then this is a channel that will have a specific application deadline/cutoff.

I highly recommend you speak to your university career office and network with the Singapore offices to figure what is the optimal timeline for you.

Good luck!

Hello!

Yep, usually it´s an all-year schedule, different from example from most of the smaller European offices.

Singy is very hard to get in since there are many applications, so being a local for sure will boost your application.

Hope it helps!

Cheers,

Clara

Hi,

Sharing my perspective working in SG and also having applied to SG firms before.

SG MBB follows 2 main hiring processes:

  1. Campus / Official Campus Recruitment (OCR)
    • These are timelines that coincide with student timelines and graduation/progression timelines
    • Most of the time, if your overseas school is part of OCR, the firm will encourage you to apply through that route and state your office preference later
  2. Experienced hires (already working)
    • This happens throughout the year, often on a rolling-basis

For PhD students, you can try firstly through OCR, but if your school is not a target school you can try through the Experienced Hire route as well.

All the best!

They are generally open all year around. However, it is better if you apply through your university career office as otherwise you might have to rely on referral
