Nowadays referral/networking has become one of the most important thing to enter into Consulting firms especially passing the screening process.

While writing a  refral message on mail , should we address it to the official mail id of the concerned consultant /  partner or  to use their personal mail address ( gmail) to send them the mail message.

Which one of these ways  is more effective ?

Hey there,

The most effective email address is the one you received from the person.

Do not reach out to their private email if you have gotten it somehow through a different approach. Even reaching out to a firm email without prior contact (cold-emailing) will have a low chance of success.

If you had no prior contact, I'd favor Linkedin, since they will see your background there and have confirmation that you are a real person and not just spam.

Cheers,

Florian

Hi there,

I don't really know what you mean here. If you've managed to obtain their email, then use whatever email you have obtained!

Otherwise, LinkedIn is now the most common form of outreach.

Make sure you're crafting your outreach emails properly - that first impression makes a huge different on your hit/response rate!

Hi there,

Normally you may have their personal email only if they gave it to you. In that case, you are free to use it.

If that’s not the case, you can definitely use the corporate email (there are a few ways to find it).

You could also use LinkedIn, but the conversion will be most likely lower in that case. If you craft an email in the right way, that’s what should bring you the best conversion.

If you have it, you should use the work email, as usually they will better manage their professional email account as a to do list.

But honestly, if you only have the personal email, use that one, I don't see a problem in doing that.
