Did they give any feedback? In interviewing with other firms, just double-check that there isn't a core/fundamental weakness/missing piece - consider a deep-dive assessment with a coach to find out.

Alas, you can't really use this as it's not an offer. Moreover, I wouldn't even raise this as it brings up more questions than anything (i.e. why didn't you make it).

If you are dealing directly with the firms… no, not really. Fine with a boutique, otherwise what you are telling them is that at the end you were REJECTED…

If you are deling with headhunters, then it may be a different case, as it means that at least you are good enough to be considered in a final round. Could be ok for boutiques as well, as long as you do it in your networking conversations (i.e., never write that in an email, cover letter, or CV… it is not an achievement).

I'm sorry to hear about your situation, particularly since you got so close!

Unfortunately you can't really leverage this in other interviews as it's not an offer. In fact, I wouldn't mention it at all, because if you do then the interviewers will wonder why you weren't ultimately extended the BCG offer.

If BCG gave you any feedback, be sure to take into account and work on anything they recommended.

If you were rejected, you can't really use that as an argument to gain leverage.

The only advantage that you have is that you went through the recruitment process and as a consequence, you have a good understanding of what to expect from other firms. 

You should also try to get feedback from BCG so you know what to work on when preparing for other firms.

Informally, yes, you can mention it to an HR or a person that refers you so that they see you as a strong candidate and fast track you to an interview.
