Long story short I’m currently on educational leave for MiM degree. I am wondering whether my 3 years experiences and MiM degree from top 5 London uni is enough to apply to MBB office in Jakarta or Dubai. Thanks!

Hi there,
Q: I am wondering whether my 3 years experiences and MiM degree from top 5 London uni is enough to apply to MBB office in Jakarta or Dubai.
I guess you mean if it is enough to be considered for an interview.
The probability of passing the screening depends on your full profile so it is difficult to comment without more information. In terms of the position to target, with your experience the level should be BA or Senior BA at McKinsey and Associate/Senior Associate at BCG/Bain.
Good luck!
Francesco
Hi there,
Of course you can!
Now, to maximize your odds, you need to:
- Get your resume as strong as possible
- Get some “quick” consulting-related experience
- Get a strong cover letter
- Network a ton and look to get a referral

Your combination of work experience and a degree from a top London university is certainly impressive and can be a strong foundation for applying to MBB offices in Jakarta or Dubai.
However, it's important to note that MBB firms have rigorous selection processes and specific criteria for their candidates. While your qualifications are promising, it's also essential to consider other factors such as your academic performance, extracurricular activities, leadership experience, and any relevant internships or projects.
To increase your chances of success, I recommend focusing on showcasing the transferable skills and experiences you have gained during your three years of work experience. Highlight your achievements, problem-solving abilities, and your ability to work effectively in teams.
Additionally, it can be beneficial to leverage your network and establish connections with individuals who have experience working in MBB offices in Jakarta or Dubai. They can provide insights into the local market dynamics and help you understand any specific requirements or preferences of those offices.
Hi,
It is certainly enough to apply, though I suggest seeking a referral for your application.
The position you are considered for depends on how strong and relevant your profile is. The HR may choose to either downgrade or upgrade the position to match your actual experience.
The position you are offered, in addition to your profile's strength, also depends on your actual interview performance (case + fit) and the overall seniority level that you demonstrate.
P.S. you can send your CV for a quick review, no charge.
Good luck!

Hi,
I used work in BCG SEA.
You could definitely apply for Jakarta office, but my POV is that you will be slotted in at the Associate role and not a Senior Associate role.
All the best!
Hi there,
Sure you can apply! For McKinsey you could try to apply to Senior Business Analyst or Junior Associate (a bit tight but might work in some offices).
Good luck!

Of course.
You don't need the Nobel prize (though it helps with screening).
What you need is a good application strategy. Here are the principles for building one:
And feel free to reach out if you have any specific follow-up questions.
