Hello All,
For anyone who attempted the Mckinsey PST recently, can you share your experience? (Difficulty, Length, case types...)
Hi,
I recently (April 2019) completed and passsed the PST. I thought it was as challenging (in terms of length and case types) as the three samples posted on the official McKinsey website.
I attempted the PST 2 years ago and while I found that the three official ones are perfect for getting the style of the test and kinds of questions you will get, the actual PST was actually more difficult than the ones online in terms of calculations and complexity of the questions.
I heard from different sources that the current PST has more chart and graph interpretation than the previous ones. Also after speaking to McKinsey consultants I found out that the PST changes every 18-ish months and not every year since candidates can't apply for 18-24 months after getting rejected.
Also if you are not from an English speaking country, you get an extra 15 minutes for the test so it might be worth leveraging that when applying.
Hi,
McKinsey PSTs are very similar and close to the PST examples available online.

All major firms like McKinsey, BCG and Bain use tests to assess a candidate's analytical skills. However the design of those tests can differ a lot.
Case Interviews can be led by the candidate or by the interviewer: In Candidate-led cases the main challenge is the structure. In Interviewer-led cases the main challenge is to adapt quickly
