PMI cases focus on unlocking the theoretical value proposed during the M&A phase. Can be tough since so many different aspects of the transaction as well both companies (buyer, target) need to be investigated.

Furthermore, I would say that most likely you would be ask about the M&A part f the operation (go/no go, synergies stimation, etc), more than the PMI

A PMI case could be any of the following (not exhaustive):

1. X company and y company have just merged, how do we go about integrating?
2. We need to integrate x function of the 2 companies - what do we need to consider
3. How can we leverage x across both companies?

In general, you're looking to optimize synergies, reduce dissynergies, and minimize integration costs.
