Hello,

I see some questions in the BCG online casey test where you have to choose 4 choices or “all that apply”. Do you get partial credit if for example you miss a choice? Also does anyone have an idea about how the test is scored and what is the passing score?

Thank you!

Hi there,

I *think* you get partial credit. I am not 100% sure here.

Regardless, try not to focus on scoring. Why? It doesn't really help.

Train yourself in answering any/all questions. Do your best on every individual question.

Knowing that you have to get 60% or 70% or 80% or that each point is woth 1 or woth 1.25 or with .67 doesn't change how you should study/prepare and how you should take the test

Make sense?

Hi there,

1) Do you get partial credit if for example you miss a choice?

The criteria are not public but most likely you will get some credits.

2) Also does anyone have an idea about how the test is scored and what is the passing score?

The bar is not publicly available but it is possible to infer what should be the passing score for the Casey part (please feel free to PM me if you want more info). For the video part, most likely you will be scored by the software based on energy, voice and similar criteria, besides the actual answer itself.

Hi there,

The scoring system is not something that is official / public and some firms also keep on changing it.

I know for a fact, for instance, that Roland Berger used to do negative scoring whenever you put in a wrong answer in some European offices and then changed to giving 0 points for wrong answers.

In general, however, from my experience it's best to emphasize quality over quantity. As a core strategy, try to move as quickly as you can with 90% certainty when selecting the answers. When you're less than 90% certain, then move to the next question and return to these ones towards the end.

Best,
Cristian

Hello,

The scoring criteria aren't public so I'm not 100% certain, but I would imagine you get some partial credit on questions where you get part of the answer right.
