Urgent | On-campus Recruitment

Hi team, I've applied for an on-campus recruitment for BCG as an experienced hire on the date of the deadline Nov12th (wasn't aware of it earlier). The next day almost 70% of applicants I know got the digital assessment with deadline to complete by this Monday (they've applied a longer time ago) but I didn't get it although I'm sure my application is quite strong. I'm just worried that applying last minute affected my chances. I know its too early to inquire but I also do know that on-campus recruitments typically follow the same timeline (applicants are weighed against oneanother) and worried I might be left behind.

I'm not sure what is the right thing to do. Should I email the recruitment team to check whether my application has been reviewed or is it too soon since I've applied on the 12th Nov so it might be too short-notice? I'm just worried my application wasn't screened in the first place and really feel my chances would be high. If anyone has experience with such recruitments please help out

I understand how this might be a stressful situation. There might be a chance that the invites are coming out in batches with people who applied earlier getting those emails first. It would not hurt if you send an email to the recruiting team to inquire.

Hi,

Can you clarify what your profile is? If you are actually an experienced hire, then applying to OCR means you would not even pass through that process as you are applying for the wrong opening.

The good news is that experienced hire interviews are often on a rolling basis, so there is no deadline per se.

Hi there,

It’s unlikely that you’ve been filtered out already. In on-campus cycles, especially when you apply right at the deadline, it’s normal for your application to be reviewed after the first batch of assessments goes out. Recruiters usually process applications in waves, and people who applied earlier often get the digital test first. Applying on the last day does not automatically hurt you, but it can mean your file is simply in the next review round. BCG typically continues sending assessment links for several days after the deadline as they work through all submissions.

Right now it’s still early. I would wait two or three more days before reaching out. If you still haven’t received anything by then, a short, polite message asking whether your application is under review is completely appropriate and will not hurt your chances.
