Hello, I'm an Associate in MEA T2, with a MBA from a top tier university in France. I'm looking to move to London (for personal reasons). I'm considering looking into a) roles in consulting MBB T2 b) roles outside of consulting in corporate strategy, and innovation/ digital transformation. Questions: 1) How is the market at your consulting firms? 2) Has anyone successfully managed the transition from MEA to London? or exited successfully consulting? 3) Would companies in London be open to sponsor employees visas?
Transfer from MEA to London

Hi there,
First of all, congratulations on your career progress thus far!
I would be happy to share my thoughts on your questions:
- First of all, as almost all coaches are ex-consultants, you are unlikely to get an insider perspective. However, in general, the UK market isn't that great, either in terms of consulting or corporate roles.
- Moreover, there are certainly cases of consultants from the Middle East/Africa moving to Europe or London specifically. What is the question behind that?
- Lastly, regarding visa sponsorship, UK-based consulting firms are generally open to sponsoring visas, but it depends on the specific case.
You can find more on this topic here: How to succeed in the final interview round.
If you would like a more detailed discussion on how to best prepare for your upcoming interviews, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best,

Hey there,
Consulting is a highly competitive industry to get into, moreover with a general dip in consulting client activity, the competitive nature intensifies. You will definitely need to make sure that you are performing well relative to peers and expectations to stay on and do well. That said, I know of many people that have successfully transitioned from MEA to London. And yes, larger and more international organisations and Firms in London would be open to sponsoring VISA, but this is not always easy as preference would go to those that already have a right to work there or are in school there.
All the best

Hey! Regarding your questions:
- Market Conditions:
The London consulting market is highly competitive but robust, particularly for MBB and T2 firms. Hiring has picked up in 2024, but there’s significant competition for roles. - Transition from MEA to London:
Yes, transitioning from MEA to London is possible, especially if you have strong credentials like an MBA from a top-tier school. Highlight international experience and adaptability. Networking and internal transfers are common paths. - Non-Consulting Roles:
Roles in corporate strategy, innovation, or digital transformation are open, but competition is strong. Focus on roles where your consulting skills and MEA experience align with their needs. - Visa Sponsorship:
Many large firms in London, including consulting and corporate strategy roles, sponsor visas, but preference often goes to candidates with the right to work in the UK. Highlight your skills and unique value to improve your chances.
Networking, leveraging alumni connections, and targeting firms with global mobility policies can significantly improve your chances.

Hi there,
1) Currently very little hiring across all firms
2)+3 Yes, there are cases (you can do a quick LinkedIn filter search and identify individuals you could network with) but it's getting very rare now.
All the best,
Florian
