I concur with what my coach colleagues have said (with a 3.6 / 3.7 GPA being competitive)

In my experience, I tend to find BCG being more stringent on educational performance and McKinsey more on experience during the screening phases.

• First of all, while specific GPA requirements may vary, a 3.6/3.7 GPA or higher is typically considered competitive for strategy consulting firms.
• Moreover, I would highly advise you to also focus on other aspects such as (international) internships, leadership roles and extracurricular activities. Consulting firms are looking for well-rounded candidates, so scoring high on just one of many dimensions will most likely still result in a rejection.

However, it's important to remember that GPA is just one aspect of your application. MBB firms also look for:

• Leadership Experience: Demonstrated through extracurricular activities, internships, or work experience.
• Analytical Skills: Proven through coursework, projects, or relevant job roles.
• Communication Skills: Highlighted in your CV and cover letter, and further assessed during interviews.

You can strengthen your application, in case your GPA is slightly below benchmark, by showcasing exceptional achievements in other areas, obtaining strong referrals, and crafting a compelling personal story.
