Hi everyone, I have an upcoming interview with BCG, and part of the process includes a cognitive test. I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this and could share what to expect and any preparation tips. Thanks a lot in advance!
BCG cognitive test

Hello
The BCG cognitive test generally includes pattern recognition, logical questions, math word problems, and reading comprehension and all within time limit. It's not necessarily about business acumen and more about methodical thinking and pace. Practice using tools like SHL-style or GMAT IR questions, and time yourself rigorously.
Best, Alessa

The BCG cognitive test (aka Pymetrics or BCG Potential Test, depending on region and role) usually focuses on problem-solving speed and logic under pressure:
– Test format: Short, timed games (if Pymetrics) or math/logic-based questions (if Potential Test), assessing memory, risk tolerance, and pattern recognition
– Preparation tips: Practice basic mental math, numerical reasoning, pattern recognition, and timed logic puzzles
– Mindset: Stay calm and fast, the test values consistent performance under time pressure more than perfection
Best of luck!

Hey there,
It's essentially a timed assessment (similar to most psychometric assessments) with quantitative analysis, logical reasoning, verbal reasoning, and business judgement. This is one of those assessments where practice will really help you be better. There are lots of free practice materials and resources online that you could leverage in preparation for it.
All the best!
