Hi everyone,

I am currently starting with my preparation and would like to know which entry tests I have to expect? I know about Imbellus and the BCG Potential Test, but are Bain, Roland Berger and Oliver Wyman using written tests as well? How should I prepare?

Thank you!

Hi there,

Virtually all companies have a test between the CV screening and the actual interviews and they use it as a means to manage the volume of applications.

The good news is that these written tests all work on a similar pattern and they look for similar things:

  • analytical ability
  • basic business knowledge
  • structuring skills
  • handling a high volume of complex information
  • making assumptions and inferences with little data
  • etc.

If you train effectively for one, you are basically training for all of them.

And then as a last step, you can then go deeper and understand what are the specific differences for each of them to maximise your chances of passing.

Best,

Cristian

Hi there,

regardless of the type of the “exam”, all are variation of a business cases, just done if the faster manner to effectively filter large amount of candidate. The way to prepare are:

1. Learn how to approach the problem, how to structure different type of cases

2. Make sure you are strong in math and char reading → in these tests, it is more difficult than oral case

3. Practice, don't just read or watch videos

4. Eventually get a coach

Good luck

Lucie

Hello!

It's very dependent on region, and also sometimes on tenure.

Can you provide a bit more details, so we can orient you better?

Cheers,

Clara
