I had worked with Big 4 firm for 4 years prior to my MBA in a different office. Interned in a different office in the Strategy team this summer but did not get a return offer. What are my options for full time recruiting.

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about your experience - but fortunately this shouldn't affect your other options with recruiting too much! You won't be able to apply to that specific company, but other than that there are no restrictions. As Francesco pointed out, take some time to think about how you would respond to any questions about your internship experience and the lack of a full-time offer. Also, be sure to have some honest conversations with the people you worked with this summer to understand why you didn't get the full-time offer, and try to work on whatever it is that prevented you from securing the offer this time around.

Hi there,

The fact you did not get a returning offer just implies you won’t be able to apply for that particular firm, you are free to apply to any other for full time.

The only thing you will have to prepare differently in terms of the application process is a good answer to “Did you get a return offer from XYZ”.

Hope this helps,

Francesco

Hi there,

I'm sorry to hear this!

Just remember, the biggest accomplishments come from temporary defeat.

I've known a number of people who did not receive a return offer, kept recruiting, and sealed an offer (sometimes even better!) from another firm.

You won't be able to recruit for that specific company, but all other ones are fair game! Make sure to network extensively, and take all your learnings to ace the interview.

Finally, reflect on why you didn't receive a return offer and what you can do differently next time around.

Best of luck!

Hey, try and get an idea as to why you didn't get the return offer. There could be some factors not in your control. This feedback could be good to learn from and improve.

Otherwise, cast your net wide and go elsewhere. So many options out there to pick :). All the best.

Your options for full-time recruiting are the other 3 in Big 4, along with all other firms where your profile can be a match. So the world has not ended - do not worry.

But do make it a point to prepare well for the question if asked - “Why did you not get an offer at XYZ?”

Also, try to find out from your team at the Big 4 on some of reasons why you didn't make it and try to see if you can improve upon it.
