Hello everyone,
About one week after applying to Bain, I received an email to complete an online assessment. is that assessment sent to every applicant or there is a step that I passed? thank you!
Hello everyone,

Hello,
This will vary based on region/practice/role, but generally speaking, not all applicants are invited to complete the assessment. So you have indeed passed a step (the initial resume screen) - congratulations! The next step (advancing to first round interview) will be based on your resume, cover letter, and test score. Best of luck with preparing for and taking the assessment!
Hi there,
It depends from firm to firm and office to office.
In most cases, however, if the application is complete and it passes automatic filters, then they send you the test invite automatically. They then review your full application (CV, cover letter, referrals) including the test results and decide whether to take you to the next round.
As I always tell everybody, apply widely however. During the present economic times, firms are quite tough with who they take to interviews, so it's best to diversify. More on this here:
Best of luck!

Hi there,
Scenario A: Everyone is sent the assessment
Result: You should do your best on it
Scenario B: A subset of people are sent the assessment
Result: You should do your best on it
Please please focus on things that matter! If you're going to succeed in interviews you need to be obective-driven and be super diligent/smart in how you spend your time, energy, focus, etc.
The answer is…it depends (I'm sorry). Sometimes this is sent for everyone and sometimes for a subset. This depends on office, role, recruiting channel, timing, etc.
By the way, please don't only focus on this Bain Assessment either. Keep applying to other firms. And, make sure you're already doing your case prep!
