I’ve signed an offer to start at an MBB firm in the Nordics in September, but I just got a 6-month internship offer at a PE firm in London. Ideally, I’d like to postpone my MBB start to do the internship. Is there a risk to asking to postpone the start date?

A friend of mine has done this before joining BCG.
I would say, ask for the deferral and structure your reasoning, worst thing that can happen is for them to say “no”, but they will not take back the offer just because of an honest request.
