what are the differences in interview focus between McK BCG and Bain?

McKinsey / Accenture Alum / Got all BIG3 offers / Harvard Business School

Hi,

McKinsey:

1st round mostly interviewer led, 2nd mostly interviewee led
Lots of non-conventional cases: non-profits, operational improvements, market sizings as a standalone case
Fit is super important. They will ask you to provide another story if they don't like what you are saying

Bain

Hardest cases, most of which have a particular numeric answer
Classic industries + lot's of M&A and synergies cases. Marketsizing very often a part of the case
Lot's of the cases with printed handouts to analyze
Fit is the least important of the MBB companies. They will just ask a story about yourself, why consulting, why Bain, your questions to them

BCG

Somewhere in the middle between Bain and McKinsey. The cases are pretty standard. The fit interview part includes stories by the interviewers are less demanding than at McK
