Interview ended with only 2 case questions, Is this normal?

Interviewer 1

1. PEI - went very well. Interviewer was impressed.

2. Case

a. Structure went perfect

b. Math question - I took longer and then realized I went wrong way. I tracked back and corrected it. I told the numbers to the interviewer, and he acknowledged. Then messed up the % change between two options. I said that something like 'option 1 is 2400 (changed numbers) and option 2 is 2000. So, there is 20% saving for moving to option 2'. I was stressed and I couldn't think at that time and later realized that I meant 20% higher cost for option 1.

Interviewer didn't ask further questions and said we will close the case. He asked whether I have any questions for him. I was surprised as case closed with just two questions.

Interviewer 2. went fine, No hickups.

Structure - went ok, interviewer asked anything else would I like to consider. I added non-financial benefits bucket for a profitability case.

brainstorming - went ok

and Math - went very well right answers and right synthesis on time.

I would be happy to share my thoughts on your situation:

I don’t understand why you expected the interviewer to ask you questions about math. Unless there is something they would like to hint you on, I don’t see any scenario why they should ask any questions in this part of the interview.

Hi there,

There could be several reasons. Generally, McKinsey interviewers are very efficient. They only use as many questions as needed to collect their data and observation points.

From the outside, it's always hard to say if the performance was good enough.
