• First of all, I would advise you to try and get feedback from your referral or the recruiter if possible; even though official feedback is usually not given this early in the process, referrals can sometimes give you some informal insights.
• Moreover, I would highly advise you to clarify with the recruiter how long you'll have to wait before you can reapply, even if the usual ban period is 12-18 months.

sorry to hear that it did not work out during this round of application. I would reach out to your referral and ask him or her to clarify internally and get back to you. That might get you some details on what you need to improve. You can reapply in 2025 but will likely need some further experience to make it work that time.

First of all, I am sorry for this situation, I know how we create expectations and how much of humility the consulting recruitment process requires. 

Moving forward, the hard rule is to wait for one year before applying, but I have had colleagues that only waited for 6 months and were successfully included in the recruitment process again.

Your CV was probably the issue, either you really don’t have the experience needed, or you haven’t crafted it in the proper way (I would bet on the latest based on my experience).

Given you have been referred, I would recommend asking the PL to check internally.

Regarding when to apply, the standard ban starts from 12 months. The person referring you might let you know if that’s indeed  the case. In some specific circumstances, they might allow you to apply earlier (the minimum I heard has been 6 months).

– Wait at least 6 months before reapplying (standard at BCG) unless you make a significant change in role/experience

Unfortunately, there is not much you can do now. If the application was not selected, you are automatically banned from re-applying for at least 12 months.

I'd try and apply with other firms in the region.
