BCG Dubai - Senior Associate First Round

Yes - essentially you will be evaluated through a fit assessment and case interview. 

The Behavioural Assessment is designed to see how your skills and background match The Firms culture. Here you can be asked about your experiences and motivations to be assessed on if you will be able to blend in, match and augment the culture of the organisation

The Case Interview is designed to test your problem solving ability and showcase how you think. You may or may not get a market sizing question, that will depend on the interviewer you get and the case they want to give you. Here you want to show that if you were put in a real engagement, you have the ability to think in the right way to solve the client problem. 

You want to be able to show leadership (both in the fit and case) and the ability to drive the case forward autonomously. The interviewer should feel like they would be happy to have you on their team

  • These assess your background, motivation, and alignment with BCG's values. Be prepared to discuss your previous experiences using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result).
  • Expect questions about leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, and handling challenges. Given the senior associate role, be ready to articulate how you've managed responsibilities and contributed to strategic decisions.
• Case Interview:
  • You will likely encounter market-sizing exercises at BCG from my experience which are rather out of the box.
  • Prepare for both qualitative insights and quantitative analysis, including mental math and frameworks.
  • Practice explaining your thought process clearly and concisely, as this is a critical skill BCG values.

Q: What should I expect from a first round interview? Will it be mostly focusing on the fit portion with a small market sizing, or I should expect a normal case?

The usual first round is fit + case + your questions. The case might include a market sizing, but it could also be a standard business case without any market sizing.

How soon is your interview? The fact you’re not aware of the interview format with an upcoming interview (assuming that is weeks away) might mean you’ve got a lot of work to be prepared and competitive for your first round.
