HR email after BCG decision round

Question

My final round (two zoom interviews) at BCG was on Friday (2 days ago). Received an email from HR on Monday saying "..... I wanted to let you know that you should hear back from us with a decision by the end of the week. We appreciate your patience and look forward to connecting by the end of the week."

Does this mean anything considering I did not reach out to them at all. I know i may be reading too much into this but am anxious as hell.

Edit: I received another email on Monday saying they will get back in another week's time (so a total of 2 weeks). I am curious if this is common - and does it mean they are looking at other candidates or are unsure? Could it be that partner hasn't had a chance to debrief/align for this long?

I would highly advise you not to read anything into such e-mails. They are typically standard procedure and are sent to maintain transparency with candidates about the timeline.

This is an agenda thing, nothing more

All interviewers need to sit together to discuss your performance across all interviews. If they haven't come back to you, most likely they couldn't find a common slot in their agendas to discuss the final decision.

It’s alright to be anxious but the message you received is just an update letting you know deliberations are ongoing.

Feel free to reach out to HR if you don’t hear back by next Thursday - they sometimes need a couple more days beyond stated deadline due to busy Partners’ schedules.
