First of all, best of luck int his journey!

My #1 advice to you is to stay determined/hardworking/dedicated. It is a hard/long journey but if you put your mind to it you can transition.

I don't have insights specifically into the energy and utilities consulting market in the UAE, but this is exactly what networking is for! I highly recommend you get out there, reach out to people and get on the phone/meeting in person - you'll find it's immensely rewarding!

In short, you can apply to any of the big firms because all of them have energy and utilities practice and are always actively looking for people with expertise (even under the current market conditions).

From my point of view, the next step for your should be to start networking more in the market to understand what opportunities are out there at the moment.

Hello,

Sounds like you have a very strong professional background and would be a great candidate for consulting within energy & utilities!

I don't know what the specific current dynamics for consulting in energy and utilities are in the UAE, but from my time in consulting I can tell you that those firms / industry practices were always in demand and had plenty of work, so I'd imagine you'll have a good pick of opportunities once you do some research. Most major consulting firms have practices that specialize in energy (e.g., Electric Power & Natural Gas practice at McKinsey). You would be well-suited for a specialist position in those practices, I recommend taking a look at some of those.
