I’m starting an executive-level role at a very large, well-known company.
However, although the role is generally perceived as more execution-focused, my actual responsibilities involve a significant amount of analytical work and the use of analytical tools.
Since my long-term goals are in business analytics and consulting, I’m concerned that my job title might hurt my chances of getting interviews for analyst roles at other major companies.
Would it be acceptable to list my title as Analyst on my resume if my responsibilities are primarily analytical, even though my official title is an executive-level position? Or would it be better to keep my official title and highlight the analytical aspects through my experience bullets?
