Accenture interviews London

Hello,

I have a second round interview with Accenture (skills interview and motivation for role) and the third round will be a case study. 

Does anyone know how the format of the case studies for this role would differ to that of Mckinsey/BCG. Also are the skills interview/motivation for role questions similar to some MBB in that they are looking for very specific elements/characteristics?

Accenture’s case studies differ from MBB in a few key ways:
    1.    More Operational & Technology-Focused:
    •    Unlike MBB’s strategy-heavy cases, Accenture’s cases often include digital transformation, process optimization, or implementation challenges.
    •    Expect a mix of qualitative and quantitative questions, but less emphasis on complex math compared to MBB.
    2.    More Structured Guidance:
    •    Accenture’s cases tend to be more guided, with interviewers providing hints or steering you in the right direction.
    •    They may also include slide interpretation or a brief written summary.
    3.    Industry-Specific Scenarios:
    •    Depending on the role, cases could focus on technology, supply chain, or digital strategy, rather than broad corporate strategy.

For the skills & motivation interview, expect behavioral questions similar to MBB but with a stronger emphasis on:
    •    Teamwork & Collaboration (Accenture values working in cross-functional teams).
    •    Problem-Solving in Complex Environments (less about structured frameworks, more about adaptability).
    •    Technology & Innovation (even for non-tech roles, demonstrating awareness of digital trends helps).

It’s still worth preparing with a structured approach (like MBB cases), but tailor your answers to Accenture’s focus on execution, innovation, and teamwork rather than just high-level strategy.

Hi there, 

It should largely be similar. The cases will be candidate-led, i.e., you need to guide through it while asking your interviewer for information. This is more the BCG than then McK style. 

In terms of personal fit, this does not differ to MBB. They will test your motivation, your background and personal experience and try to assess the cultural fit.

Accenture cases are usually candidate-led, so focus on strong problem-solving and analytical structure - similar to BCG or Bain. 

Fit is very BB-like: make it crystal clear why Accenture and how you fit. Link your past experience to the role, highlight impact, and show leadership. Be specific, and keep your answers grounded in results.

It’s generally less structured and intense than MBB. Often more practical and operational, not super math-heavy or strict on frameworks. They’re looking to see how you think, your logic and communication, and your understanding of business basics—so clarity and structure still matter, but don’t stress about being “perfect.”

? Skills/Motivation Interview (Round 2):
Yes, they’ll cover some behavioral questions, but it’s less like McKinsey’s PEI format. They’re mostly looking for:
– Genuine motivation for Accenture and the specific role
Teamwork, adaptability, and client-facing communication
– Experience with digital, tech, or transformation (depending on the track)
