How will AI impact your work?

Hello there,

thank you for answering our questions.

I would be interested in your perspective on how AI will impact your work as a consultant. Do you already use it as a tool and do you think it will worsen career perspectives as less consultants will be needed to conduct the same tasks?

Thanks a lot!

Consultant

Hi and thank you for your thoughtful question — it’s certainly one that many of us in consulting are currently reflecting on.

AI is already starting to reshape the way we work as consultants. I myself believe that AI is a powerful tool rather than a threat to our job. For example, I already use AI in various ways — from accelerating research and data analysis to drafting initial ideas or presentations. These tools help streamline repetitive or time-consuming tasks, which allows me to focus more on other topic such as strategic thinking.

That said, I do believe AI will reduce the need for some types of (consulting) work, especially those that are heavily execution-focused or involve standard analyses. But at the same time, it will increase demand for consultants who can interpret AI-driven insights, guide clients through complex transformations, and provide context-sensitive advice that machines still can’t replicate.

In short: AI may shift the profile of skills required, but I believe it will enhance — not eliminate — the role of consultants who can combine domain expertise with critical thinking and emotional intelligence.
