If anyone is going crazy, having issues with the math on Q4, wondering how they got to E61 with that equation – Im here to tell you that you arent crazy, and you are right:

1) The Miles per trip # provided (10) is WRONG. Not sure why the author just hasnt come out and said it. The correct number to be used is 20.

2) If you tried to calculate the suggested answer yourself and couldnt figure out why you werent getting E61 (when using the WRONG # of 10 miles per trip) – well, thats because the author gave you the answer of E61, which you WOULD get if you used 20. But if you use 10, you wont get E61. And youll sit there trying to figure out where you went wrong, when in reality, you were right.

TLDR: 20mi per trip is the correct # to be used in the equation, and when you use it, youll get E61.

Note for experts: If youre going to put a case on here, please make sure everything is accurate. I know youre trying to help, and I appreciate that, but lets hold ourselves to the same standard that we are trying to evaluate candidates on. Mistakes like these lead to extreme frustration for candidates.

Hi there,

Thanks for the input and for clearing things up!

I totally agree with you regarding the confusion and frustration. That said, just keep in mind a few things :)

  1. Most cases have an error or two in them - it's important you get used to this (and “cover” it when giving it to another candidate)
  2. Almost every case I've made had an error in it that I didn't realize despite extensive review (that I then fixed of course)
  3. Some coaches are only on this platform temporarily/part time, so they may not be aware of the issue
  4. Once you create your own case, you'll understand how hard “perfect” truly is

That said, enjoy! And, if you see issues in any of my cases please feel free to reach out and let me know!
