MSc choice for consulting

Hi Marcus, congratulations on the offers! Warwick being in the UK does make it easier to find opportunities in the country, but I suspect a lot of Bocconi and Esade students also have aspirations to work in the UK and end up working there (as well as other international countries). 

Are you able to access their career reports? I would recommend asking your admissions point of contact to help you with this information to understand how many people have worked in the places that you want to from these schools over the last few years. 

You can also do a broad linkedin search to get some sense of where alumni from these schools and programs tend to go, but getting access to reports is a better option. Good luck!  

This is a fantastic set of offers, and it's completely normal to feel torn given the subtle differences in perception and opportunity each presents for consulting. You've correctly identified the core trade-offs.

From an MBB recruiting perspective, the Esade International Management + CEMS MIM option is exceptionally strong, especially given your desire for international mobility across London, the Middle East, and Singapore. CEMS is a unique global alliance that acts almost like a pre-vetted talent pool for many top consulting firms; they actively recruit from CEMS cohorts across various member schools. This gives you a powerful, built-in international network and direct access to recruiting processes in multiple regions, which is incredibly valuable. The "International Management" degree is also perfectly aligned with the generalist consulting profile.

Bocconi's brand is indeed very well-regarded, particularly in London and parts of continental Europe. However, "Marketing Management" is a more specialized degree. While you can absolutely pivot into generalist consulting from it, you might need to work a bit harder to frame your skills and experience for non-marketing-specific roles. Warwick is a solid choice for the UK market, and a "Data and Economic Sciences" background can be very attractive for certain consulting practices, but it generally doesn't offer the same international reach or direct cohort recruiting access for generalist MBB roles in multiple regions as the CEMS program does.

If your primary goal is generalist consulting with maximum international flexibility and network exposure, the Esade + CEMS MIM is likely your strongest bet. It offers a broad appeal and a structured pathway that often simplifies the international job search.

CEMS is a globally recognised qualification with alumni across consulting firms in 30+ countries. If you want to work across London, Middle East, or Singapore, that network is genuinely useful.

Bocconi has stronger brand recognition in London than ESADE, but Marketing Management is a poor fit for consulting. The content just does not align with what firms want to see.

Warwick is solid for UK roles but loses its edge the moment you go international.

How to think about it:

• Want international mobility across multiple markets: ESADE + CEMS
• Want to target London or Europe specifically: Bocconi, but ideally on a different course
• Happy staying in England: Warwick

Given you want optionality across multiple markets and English-speaking environments, ESADE is the right move.
